Breakdown of Abandoned Structure Environment project

Here is a little breakdown of the last project I made in Unreal 5.1

This environment is based on the photo references "Post Industrial Megapack references" by Ben Evrard.

I didnt think of making sreenshots of blockout, so this one is the only one I have. I used PureRef and small notebook, for all the references, concepts and small notes.

I tried to keep wall length of 1.5 m, but I had to change it to keep the shape of door frame the way I wanted it to look like.

When I was making blockout I tried to keep the shapes of those thin planks according to references. At fist I made them with cube like endings, later I thought that they will look better if I made them with jagged endings.

Wall corners looked too harsh and blockish so I made edge decals. Later in ue I tiled them 2x on one axis.

I made those masks fto add a bit of variety to ceiling plates. In UE I mixed material I made for them with dark color using those masks.

Rocks, bricks and planks were sculpted in zbrush and mixed with base materials I made in substance designer.
